Bernadine Johnson
has been composing for the public since the age of nine, when her
memory failed her during a recital. Rather than stopping, starting
over, or crying, she just made up the rest. She has been actively
arranging and composing music ever since.
Ms. Johnson earned
her degree in music education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She
has been teaching piano for more than 25 years to students of all
ages and abilities in her private studio in Fremont, Michigan, and
has served on the faculties of both Jordan College and Blue Lake Fine
Arts Camp. Along with her teaching, she is active as a church
musician, adjudicator, accompanist, director, member of several
musical organizations, community volunteer, wife, mother and
grandmother. She has received several awards for her accomplishments
and service in the field of music.
Her teaching
philosophy is that every person is unique, and all will learn at
their own pace and in their own way. Therefore, each should be given
time, respect, acceptance, opportunity, and of course, music that
inspires them to continue the journey! |
