Loretta Pritchard
attended the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama where
she received a bachelors degree in piano pedagogy in 1986, and
a masters degree in piano performance in 1988. As an
undergraduate, she received several awards including Senior Elite,
the Lois Thompson Mims Memorial Award, and the Elizabeth Frances
Young Piano Award for excellence in teaching and performing. She was
also a member of several national honor societies including Pi Kappa
Lambda, the national music honorary. As a graduate student, she was
voted the Outstanding Graduate Student in the Department of Music for 1988.
Loretta has been
performing since childhood and has taught privately for the past 20
years in the states of Alabama, Texas, and Montana. She also served
as Adjunct Instructor of Music at the University of Montevallo and
the University of Montana.
Loretta presently
lives in Birmingham, Alabama where she is an Educational Consultant
for Ellis Piano and is a member of the Alabama Music Teachers
Association and Birmingham Music teachers Association. She is still
active as a composer and performer and has compositions published by
The FJH Music Company and Lifeway Christian Resources. |
